Four learning routesChoose a route to see its certifications in recommended order below

Microsoft certificationsRecommended order

For: people at companies using Microsoft 365, Teams and Power Platform who build, run or design internal agents and AI apps — from business teams using Copilot Studio to Azure developers and solution architects.

AI agent certification path

Start with AB-620, the closest to business teams, move on to development (AI-103) and operations (AI-300), then the Expert-level AB-100.

  1. AB-620AI Agent Builder (Copilot Studio)
  2. AI-103Azure AI Apps and Agents Developer
  3. AI-300Machine Learning Operations (MLOps / GenAIOps) Engineer
  4. AB-100Agentic AI Business Solutions Architect (Expert)

AB-100 requires one of the Associate certifications (per the official page). The order and study hours are this site’s recommendations.

AWS certificationsRecommended order

For: people at companies using (or starting to use) AWS — from business and IT staff learning cloud basics to architects and engineers building generative AI and ML into their work. Start with CLF-C02 (cloud) or AIF-C01 (AI).

Foundational → Associate → Professional

Learn the big picture of AWS with CLF-C02, choosing the right architecture with SAA-C03, and multi-account, migration and large-scale design with SAP-C02.

  1. CLF-C02Cloud Practitioner
  2. SAA-C03Solutions Architect – Associate
  3. SAP-C02Solutions Architect – Professional

There are no official prerequisites. The exam guides assume up to 6 months of exposure to AWS for CLF-C02, 1+ year of experience for SAA-C03 and 2+ years for SAP-C02. The order is this site’s recommendation.

STEP 1FoundationalAvailable

CLF-C02Cloud Practitioner

AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner

For people who want to grasp AWS basic terms, the shared responsibility model, key services and pricing concepts. Suits staff in sales, general affairs, accounting and other business departments involved in AWS estimates, contracts and in-house cloud use, and new IT staff.

STEP 2AssociateAvailable

SAA-C03Solutions Architect – Associate

AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate

For people who choose architectures from security, availability, performance and cost requirements when moving or rebuilding in-house systems on AWS. Suits IT staff, system planners working with integrators, and anyone who wants to build design skills after CLF-C02.

AI path

Learn AI/ML/generative AI fundamentals and responsible AI with AIF-C01, building, deploying and operating ML and generative AI models with MLA-C02, and designing and running generative AI applications with AIP-C01.

  1. AIF-C01AI Practitioner
  2. MLA-C02Machine Learning Engineer – Associate
  3. AIP-C01Generative AI Developer – Professional

There are no official prerequisites. MLA is moving to the revised MLA-C02 (as of October 2026, the English exam is in beta). The order is this site’s recommendation.

STEP 1FoundationalAvailable

AIF-C01AI Practitioner

AWS Certified AI Practitioner

For people who decide how to use generative AI and machine learning in the business rather than build it. Suits staff planning AI use in sales, general affairs or accounting, IT departments evaluating vendor proposals, and anyone taking a first step into AWS AI certifications.

There are no official prerequisites. The order is this site’s recommendation.

Japanese certifications certificationsRecommended order

For: people who want to prove, in a Japanese-language exam, their knowledge of using generative AI safely at work and of AI and deep learning fundamentals.

Generative AI literacy → Deep learning fundamentals

Learn how to use generative AI, its risks and internal rules with the Generative AI Passport, then machine learning, deep learning, law and ethics with the G Certificate (Japanese-language exams).

  1. 生成AIパスポートGenerative AI Passport Exam
  2. G検定G Kentei (JDLA Deep Learning for GENERAL)

Neither has eligibility restrictions. The order is this site’s recommendation.
